Responsibilities

  • Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services
  • Qualify suppliers according to company standards and administer Certified Supplier Program for cost-effective receiving inspection
  • Monitor parts from acquisition through manufacturing cycle, communicate, and resolve supplier-related problems
  • Develop and prioritize auditing schedule to ensure regular audits of suppliers for GMP and quality standards
  • Evaluate suppliers' internal functions, assess overall performance, and provide feedback
  • Provide Pre-Market Quality Engineering support to New Product Development (NPD) in partnership with Component Engineering and Post-Market teams
  • Deliver quality parts, materials, and services to prevent defects and ensure high-quality, reliable products
  • Provide technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout NPD lifecycle
  • Implement strategies for driving product quality and continuous improvement on newly qualified parts
  • Ensure purchased products/components meet industry standards, regulatory, and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with Component Engineers on Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List, Supplier Owned Quality, and Control Plans
  • Define Receiving Inspection requirements and validate associated test methods for internal Medtronic Test Methods
  • Contribute to project milestones, with possible involvement in cross-functional assignments
  • Make adjustments or recommend enhancements in systems/processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
