Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience in mechanical hardware manufacturing or manufacturing engineering, with a focus on composite, 3D printed, injection molded, and machined parts. They must be able to analyze and explain 2D drawings and critical features of mechanical components, and demonstrate proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA. An M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Supplier Development Engineer will audit and embed improvements into core supplier processes to enhance cost, lead-times, and quality; conduct on-site audits to root cause supplier quality issues and performance challenges; assess and improve supplier capabilities to align with engineering and operational priorities; provide technical guidance to suppliers on part specifications and manufacturing processes; track and analyze supplier performance metrics; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans; identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain; support the introduction of new products by ensuring suppliers meet quality and delivery requirements; and deliver on the mission to deliver affordable and autonomous mass at scale.
