Understanding of paint application processes, equipment utilization, and material flow

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the Paint Shop production team to meet daily operational goals and quality standards
Implement corporate production policies, safety protocols, and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Manage production activities in the Paint Shop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality
Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to team members to meet production targets and improve performance
Ensure paint application processes, equipment utilization, and material flow support consistent production output
Evaluate team member performance and drive continuous improvement through feedback, training, and development
Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Logistics
Optimize use of personnel, materials, and equipment to achieve maximum productivity and minimal downtime
Train and develop hourly team members to grow their technical and operational capabilities
Learn and integrate Scout Motors’ operational principles and culture into daily operations
Monitor and enforce compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including occupational health and safety
Oversee the overall quality in the department, ensuring adherence to OEM standards and customer requirements; implement corrective actions when necessary
Quickly identify and resolve production challenges—including quality defects, equipment disruptions, and staffing issues—to minimize downtime and sustain optimal output levels
Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment; ensure all safety protocols are followed and take immediate corrective action in response to safety concerns or violations
Work closely with leadership to implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and increase efficiency
Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to track production metrics, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide recommendations for improvements
Encourage and maintain open communication with hourly team members, fellow supervisors, and cross-functional departments, ensuring a cohesive and efficient workflow
Provide ongoing coaching and skill development opportunities for team members to grow within the company, enhancing their capabilities and fostering career progression
