Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Paint Shop production team to meet daily operational goals and quality standards
  • Implement corporate production policies, safety protocols, and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Manage production activities in the Paint Shop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality
  • Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to team members to meet production targets and improve performance
  • Ensure paint application processes, equipment utilization, and material flow support consistent production output
  • Evaluate team member performance and drive continuous improvement through feedback, training, and development
  • Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Logistics
  • Optimize use of personnel, materials, and equipment to achieve maximum productivity and minimal downtime
  • Train and develop hourly team members to grow their technical and operational capabilities
  • Learn and integrate Scout Motors’ operational principles and culture into daily operations
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all regulatory guidelines, including occupational health and safety
  • Oversee the overall quality in the department, ensuring adherence to OEM standards and customer requirements; implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Quickly identify and resolve production challenges—including quality defects, equipment disruptions, and staffing issues—to minimize downtime and sustain optimal output levels
  • Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment; ensure all safety protocols are followed and take immediate corrective action in response to safety concerns or violations
  • Work closely with leadership to implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize processes and increase efficiency
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to track production metrics, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Encourage and maintain open communication with hourly team members, fellow supervisors, and cross-functional departments, ensuring a cohesive and efficient workflow
  • Provide ongoing coaching and skill development opportunities for team members to grow within the company, enhancing their capabilities and fostering career progression
