- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing
- Direct supervisory and people management experience
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations effectively
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and implementing operational efficiencies
- Strong ability to hold team members accountable and manage performance
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Tolerance for loud noises (equipment/machinery), strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products), and working with hazardous/toxic materials
- Willingness to wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Lead team to meet or exceed operational goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
- Implement process improvements by applying PPI, 5S, and Lean methodologies
- Advise daily work to ensure schedule completion while leading utilization and efficiency
- Trend production metrics to identify areas of improvement
- Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve operational excellence
- Ensure effective performance evaluations are prepared and delivered for all employees
- Coach and mentor staff to elevate overall performance and achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Make technical and business risk decisions under real-time pressure
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to
- Initiate investigations into process failures, product failures, and safety incidents
- Interact cordially with diverse internal functional groups to tackle moderately sophisticated problems
