Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, engineering preferred, or a combination of formal education and job related experience
8-10 or more years of experience and knowledge of environmental compliance laws, regulations, procedures and programs
Experience with and knowledge of environmental programs including: Clean Air Act / Title V compliance; Hazardous, non-hazardous and universal waste management; Clean Water Act (including SPCC, SWPPP and NPDES permits); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting and compliance requirements; Spill Management and Emergency Response (RMP and FRP); Remediation site management; Pre-acquisition due diligence
Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and standards
Ability to plan, influence and organize compliance efforts
Ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence and company responses to agency requests
Ability to evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures

Responsibilities
Oversee employees providing environmental compliance support to business segments and/or corporate programs
Facilitate compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures and guidelines
Provide planning and oversight to support business segments and/or corporate programs pertaining to environmental compliance and implementing best management practices in accordance with company mission, vision, and values
Partner with Operations to develop, analyze and implement programs to meet environmental compliance requirements and implement best management practices for business segments
Oversee the management and retention of required ESH documentation
Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; maintain responses to agencies regarding alleged non-compliance and settlement negotiations
Review and approve permit applications and other submittals to regulatory agencies
Balance the interests of the company in maintaining compliance with environmental requirements
Research federal, state and local environmental regulations to ensure company personnel are adequately informed of regulatory changes
Maintain consistency between field and corporate regulatory interpretations through regular communication with corporate environmental staff
Evaluate compliance efforts of operations by participating in the Operations Compliance Audit Program
Offer guidance to business segment field operations and direction to outside consultants providing environmental support to business segment field operations
Supervise development and growth of team through guidance and feedback
Supervise and assist assigned Environmental Professionals and contractors
Ensure environmental compliance staff is aware of emerging issues regarding environmental regulations and attend ESH related training applicable to each position
Responsible for supervising staff and related human resource activities such as hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, performance, etc
