Position Overview

At iRhythm, we are redefining how cardiac care is delivered through innovative technology and data-driven insights. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and transform the healthcare experience. We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Strategic Payer Partner Lead to join our team and help with operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).

The Strategic Payor Partner Lead (SPP Lead) will support the oversight, mentorship, and performance auditing of our Strategic Payor Partner team. This individual will serve as both a high-level contributor and team advisor—driving payer strategy, analyzing performance trends, supporting complex issue resolution, and helping ensure operational alignment across the RCM function. This role is ideal for an experienced payer strategist who excels at root cause analytics, team coordination, and partnering across multiple stakeholders to drive payer accountability and revenue recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Team Oversight & Support and manage regional payer assignments
  • Serve as a go-to resource for regionally assigned SPPs, helping triage complex payer issues
  • Review and advise on escalations, including field vs. payer source identification
  • Conduct audits of root cause findings and ensure consistency in resolution documentation
  • Oversee payer performance trends across all assigned regions to identify systemic gaps
  • Partner with Market Access, DMAs, and RCM liaisons to coordinate multi-team response plans
  • Support leadership with KPI dashboards, payer performance summaries, and compliance reporting
  • Help develop SOPs, standard templates and escalation workflows for the SPP team
  • Mentor newer SPPs and assist with onboarding and role-based development
  • Ensure findings are communicated effectively to RCM managers and/or billing vendors
  • Track execution and follow-through of payer remediations led by SPPs
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation recommendations
  • Create and manage team scorecards and process quality standards for the SPP’s
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • At least 7 years in healthcare revenue cycle or payer performance roles
  • Ability to interpret data trends, model performance, and identify actionable insights
  • Strong communication skills with ability to navigate cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools
  • Exposure to denial management, EOB interpretation, and AR/cash collection strategies.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting or leading a payer-focused team
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Comfort reviewing dashboards, audit trails, and payer trend data
  • Advanced root cause analysis and data interpretation skills
  • Strong understanding of payer behavior, reimbursement trends, and post-claim RCM workflows
  • Experience leading or mentoring revenue cycle or payer-focused teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting
