Requirements

  • Minimum Level 8 degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or a Supply Chain related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • Solid computer skills: SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project; Advanced Excel knowledge (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.)
  • Knowledge of procurement/planning principles, regulations, theories, and processes (nice to have)
  • Understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems (nice to have)
  • Understanding of industry terminology, processes, workflow, and materials (nice to have)
  • Exposure to supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials, and inventory control environment (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote strong relationships with suppliers, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, Quality, Commodity Management, and any other internal customers
  • Provide project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams
  • Facilitate these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that optimise Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost
  • Use problem solving techniques/methodologies to identify supplier delivery root cause and achieve resolution of production continuity events
  • Mitigate risk, leverage technology and purchase power, improve processes and systems, and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition
  • Participate in daily stand up at site production and tier meetings; attend other staff meetings as required
  • Perform special projects as assigned, including Lifecycle Management and support material cost reduction initiatives (Price Point Variance)
  • Support Cash Flow Initiatives: Last time buy/Strategic and excess & obsolete process, follow-up scrap disposition at sites, and monitor
  • Participate in operations sourcing strategic activities, especially those involving product life cycle and supplier management (product/part phase in-phase out, last time buy/strategic, excess & obsolete processes)
  • Support local sourcing related initiatives, supplier delivery performance, and inventory management
  • Support commodity management in pricing, terms & conditions, and quality agreements with key strategic suppliers
