Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with regulators and elected officials in the financial services or fintech space
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public policy, political science, etc.) or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong track record of managing high-stakes policy issues and building relationships with financial regulators at both the state and local level
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally in a way that enables you to manage internal and external processes and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel 4-8 days per month
  • Preferred: understanding of financial technology and/or investment advice

Responsibilities

  • Implement Pontera’s state policy strategy, working cross-functionally with senior leaders across our policy, legal, marketing and sales teams
  • Develop a strong understanding of business priorities and regulatory and legislative trends to inform our strategy and engagement
  • Provide guidance and insight to leadership and sales team regarding state regulatory and policy talking points
  • Provide demonstrations and trainings to state securities commissions, ensuring they understand how Pontera works and protects retirement savers
  • Representing Pontera with third party advocates to influence local policy makers at the state government level to advance regulatory strategy
