Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience within pharmaceutical, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in payer sales
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Responsibilities

  • Provide the vision and strategy for building and maintaining payer stakeholder relationships with all pharmacy business managers (PBMs), health plans, and employer groups to meet the strategic and profitability goals of the business unit
  • Oversee a sales team responsible for bringing on new opportunities in the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), health plans, and employer space
  • Develop overall reimbursement strategy to support budget and long-term strategic planning and ensure reimbursement alignment with overall financial goals
  • Monitor changes in the payer landscape and communicate opportunities which enhance the payer book of business
  • Work closely with internal leadership as well as payers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders
  • Oversee the development of business review content for payer account management to include payer level key performance indicators related to drug utilization
  • Oversee the contracting and credentialing teams
  • Lead as the subject matter resource/liaison for payer strategy
  • Work with sales and operations with a focus on strategic opportunities
  • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of direct reports
