Requirements

  • Senior executive-level experience in shaping and executing long-term vision and strategy for pharmacy product portfolio, including full ownership of PBM product P&L
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide efforts across commercial and government lines of business
  • Expertise in product innovation, pricing, growth, lifecycle management, and competitive positioning in the PBM market
  • Strong collaboration skills with executive leadership in benefit management, pharmacy operations, health plan product, sales, account management, and centralized product organizations
  • Capability to translate market trends, regulatory changes, and client insights into actionable strategies
  • Experience evaluating external vendors to support strategy
  • Proficiency in developing multi-year product roadmaps ensuring balanced portfolios advancing affordability, access, and clinical value
  • Leadership in strategic design, pricing, market differentiation, go-to-market strategies, and product positioning
  • Skills in overseeing KPIs, reporting mechanisms for product success, adoption, and profitability
  • Ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams with mentorship and professional development
  • Willingness to work in-office at least 3 days per week in preferred locations (e.g., Indianapolis, IN; Atlanta, GA; Mason, OH; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; New York City) or within reasonable commuting distance

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of the enterprise PBM product strategy, aligning with Elevance Health’s strategic priorities and growth objectives
  • Take full ownership and responsibility of the PBM Product P&L
  • Partner with the Carelon Product function to manage the PBM product lifecycle, including strategy, ideation, prioritization, rationalization, development, go-to-market, lifecycle management, and market performance evaluation
  • Translate market trends, regulatory changes, and client insights into actionable strategies driving business growth and client satisfaction
  • Evaluate external vendors to support strategy
  • Create multi-year roadmap for PBM product ensuring a balanced portfolio that advances affordability, access, and clinical value
  • Collaborate with enterprise marketing, segment, sales leaders, and product go-to-market teams to develop go-to-market strategies and product positioning highlighting Elevance Health’s PBM value proposition
  • Provide executive-level leadership on strategic design, pricing, and market differentiation to strengthen competitive position
  • Oversee development of key performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to evaluate PBM product success, adoption, and profitability
  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing business and operating organization; provide mentorship, vision, and professional development to drive execution
