Position Overview

ServiceNow is seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the lifecycle management of our VMware-based virtualization environment and will play a critical role in our strategic migration path toward Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP).


Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hypervisors.
  • Perform version upgrades, patch management, and system health monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure provisioning, networking, and storage integration.
  • Contribute to the architectural design and execution of the VMware to RHOSP migration strategy.
  • Automate infrastructure operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to virtualization infrastructure.
  • Document operational procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 4 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in enterprise VMware infrastructure management.
  • Hands-on experience with RHOSP or other OpenStack platforms is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking, storage systems (SAN/NAS), and server provisioning.
  • Familiarity with Linux system administration (RHEL preferred).
  • Experience in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, etc.).
  • Awareness of ITIL processes or experience in highly regulated environments is a bonus.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Previous involvement in migration projects from VMware to RHOSP or similar.
  • Certifications such as VCP, RHCSA, or RHCE are desirable.

NOTE: This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check, and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening.

Citizenship Requirement: Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents, holding a green card, will be considered.

Work Location: This role will require 2-3 days in the office at our San Diego, CA OR Kirkland, WA Office Location.

Compensation Details:

  • Base Pay: $147,300 - $257,800 (guideline, subject to change based on location and qualifications)
  • Additional Compensation: Equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits.
  • Benefits: Health plans (including flexible spending accounts), 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, flexible time away plan, and family leave programs.
