Ashby is seeking an ambitious full-stack engineer who is passionate about solving customer problems and making strategic, long-term investments in product development. We are experiencing significant growth, more than doubling our business year over year, and are continuously looking for talented engineers to help build the future of Ashby. We aim to respond to applicants within 3-4 days.

About the Role and How We Work

We value engineers who can act as product managers and designers, understanding user needs, generating ideas, conducting research, designing interfaces, and iterating on products. We prioritize solving problems over simply completing tickets.

At Ashby, we are building an environment that empowers engineers to own and achieve significant impact, often by staying out of their way. As a Product Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of substantial parts of our products, taking on responsibilities traditionally held by product and design roles. This includes competitor research, writing product specifications, creating wireframes, and more.

Examples of projects undertaken by Product Engineers at Ashby:

  • Designed and built an automated interview scheduling feature to solve the "Calendar Tetris" problem by calculating and presenting available times to candidates.
  • Developed a generalized declarative filter architecture that enables users to create complex, SQL-compiled filters with a consistent UI, powering many user-facing features.
  • Specified, designed, and implemented a feature allowing users to complete offer signings.
