Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in computer science or a related field. Required skills include expertise in creating data-intensive web applications with highly interactive graphical elements, in-depth understanding of computational performance optimization, extensive experience with front-end development using React, Angular, WebGL, TypeScript, and CSS, and extensive experience with back-end services using Java or Python. Proficiency in software performance analysis and optimization tools, along with demonstrated success in agile development methodologies and collaboration in a fast-paced team environment, is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience with C/C++, image processing, Electron or progressive web applications, and software development for next-generation sequencing or genomics.
The Staff Software Engineer will develop WebGL-powered applications for visualizing high-resolution, high-dimension multi-omics data, capable of local and cloud deployment. They will investigate, prototype, and deliver innovative solutions for visualization and data analysis, demonstrating a commitment to clean code, loose coupling, and clean architectures. This role involves close interaction with bioinformatics scientists, assay scientists, and usability engineers to build visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces, translating high-level requirements into viable plans and prioritizing activities while maintaining rigorous quality and performance standards.
