Candidates must possess 7 years of experience as a software engineer with recent experience in a Staff role, demonstrating a history of mentoring and growing junior engineers, and exhibiting excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively in a remote environment. They should also have the ability to perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve integration issues, and experience with programming languages such as Python, Golang, Rust, Java, or Javascript.
As a Staff Backend Engineer, the individual will write clean, well-tested code adhering to best practices, design and build solutions spanning systems, work in partnership with management to ensure alignment between technical and business goals, collaborate with cross-functional partners for feature development and bug fixes, and proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions to contribute to advertiser revenue growth. They will also build tools that make it easier for advertisers to create relevant, effective, and visually pleasing ads on Reddit, leveraging knowledge of asset storage and management, AI/LLMs, and scaling services.
