Candidates should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and be licensed as a pharmacist in the state where they will be working. They should have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical principles, medication therapies, and patient counseling, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Staff Pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care to customers by accurately dispensing prescription orders, counseling them on health care and medication needs, maintaining confidential information, and managing controlled medications. They will also be responsible for monitoring patient medication profiles, identifying potential drug interactions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Furthermore, they will participate in community outreach events, model appropriate customer service techniques, and provide guidance to pharmacy staff on best practices.
