Responsibilities

Live the company's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, providing feedback, and strengthening performance measures
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Remain flexible for scheduling/business needs, contribute to a safe/inclusive team dynamic, and write pharmacy schedules if directed
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care services
