Requirements

  • Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar industry (highly regulated health sector)
  • Proficiency in French and English
  • Practical knowledge of external regulatory standards in environmental monitoring/cleanrooms, microbiology/sterilization, cleaning biocompatibility, and laboratory testing such as EU MDR, GMP, ISO standards, EP
  • Prior laboratory experience
  • Knowledge of different sterilization modalities (e.g., gamma, steam)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Stryker products are clean and sterile in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical device standards
  • Oversee and maintain cleanliness and sterility during testing, monitoring, and validation of cleaning and sterilization processes, as well as in associated manufacturing facilities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance across various areas of expertise within and outside the team
  • Ensure compliance of products with all applicable regulations and standards
  • Support maintenance of classification and cleanliness of controlled environments in accordance with applicable standards
  • Monitor facilities, including those for water production used in cleaning processes
  • Manage coordination of process monitoring activities under the Sterility Assurance team
  • Analyze and control process trends, particularly related to laboratory testing, cleaning, and sterilization; continuously identify opportunities to stabilize trends and use statistical controls and other tools to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Train and mentor team members and functional groups as needed
  • Participate in global initiatives and cross-site expert groups to develop and harmonize internal sterilization and laboratory practices (including planning, consumables and inventory management, and maintenance of qualified and validated equipment and processes)
  • Manage validation and requalification activities as well as associated projects
  • Implement and adapt process and facility indicators under the team's responsibility
  • Maintain relationships and support suppliers for which the Sterility Assurance team is responsible
  • Act as a global expert, sharing knowledge across the Stryker organization worldwide
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards
  • Propose internal projects to the manager for evaluation and implementation of global strategies
