Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of experience as a software engineer and 7+ years of working experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Working experience with SQL and relational databases, a background in shipping high-quality software, experience developing in large codebases, and familiarity with C++ and/or Rust are strongly preferred. Interest in and ability to work with a distributed team, willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback, contributions through asking questions and proposing new ideas, a love of working with others collaboratively, and a keen interest in AI are also required.

Responsibilities

The Staff Frontend Software Engineer will build high-quality user interfaces and experiences for Firefox with accessibility and usability in mind. They will write code and tests, build prototypes, solve problems, collaborate with designers and engineers, learn about a wide variety of problems and solutions, and work with multi-functional teams to reach shared goals. Additionally, they will help level-up the skills of fellow engineers through code reviews, talks, and documentation, and promote high standards of code-quality focusing on performance, testing, security, usability, accessibility, and maintainability. The role also involves contributing to improving engineering practices and procedures.
