Candidates should have 7+ years of experience with big data systems processing petabyte-scale data, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and experience in fast-paced, high-ambiguity, high-innovation environments. Familiarity with messaging systems, batch processing, serverless, and streaming technologies, along with an understanding of OLTP and OLAP database systems, is required. Proven experience implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and handling database design for large-scale transaction management, reporting, and analytics is essential.
The Staff Engineer will drive design and architecture for data infrastructure supporting AI agents, focusing on feature serving and real-time ML feature serving. They will design, code, test, and release high-quality software for ML feature pipelines and real-time serving infrastructure with sub-millisecond latency. Responsibilities include running live experiments to optimize data delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions, and applying engineering expertise to challenges unique to serving large data volumes to agentic systems. The role also involves supporting on-call duties for critical AI serving infrastructure, mentoring junior engineers on AI infrastructure challenges, and writing technical documents to influence architectural decisions.
