Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience
  • Strong understanding and ability to provide mentorship in data ETL processes and tools
  • Proficient with big data frameworks (Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka)
  • Hands-on experience with data serialization formats (JSON, Parquet, XML)
  • Proficient with scripting languages (Python/Java/Scala)
  • Proficient with database administration and performance tuning (MySQL, PostgresSQL, NoSQL)
  • Proficient with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
  • Proven cloud experience (Microsoft Azure preferred, AWS)
  • Experience building distributed data processing micro-services and scalable data products
  • Strong background in data modeling

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, install, and maintain data architectures (databases, large-scale processing systems)
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to collect, cleanse, and transform data from various sources
  • Design and implement data pipelines to transfer data to storage systems (data warehouses, data lakes)
  • Implement data protection measures (encryption, secure key management, access controls)
  • Build data solutions ensuring data quality, integrity, and security
  • Administer and optimize databases for performance and scalability
  • Automate performance monitoring and surface insights through dashboards
  • Maintain Master Data, Metadata, Data Management Repositories, Logical Data Models, and Data Standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
  • Document data architectures, processes, and best practices
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of data tools and technologies
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions and stakeholders
  • Provide domain-specific thought leadership by researching data trends and technologies
