Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or other applicable engineering field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources discipline
  • Experience as project engineer or project manager for wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater design projects
  • Experience with project management and accounting software (helpful)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Develop project designs in conformance with the latest design standards
  • Manage projects, including budgetary limitations and staffing
  • Stay current on available modeling software and utilize it to efficiently design facilities
  • Develop, read, and interpret schematic and construction plans
  • Manage the production of drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Perform design quantity computations and checks for developing opinions of probable construction cost
  • Understand and work with surveying data provided from survey department
  • Apply a variety of specification regulations, policies, and standards to assure compliance with Federal, State, and local rules and regulations
  • Work with clients to pursue project funding through available funding agencies while following funding agency practices and policies
  • Perform business development activities to assist with the growth of the Water Resources service line
