Requirements

  • Knowledge of clinical and research applied genetics and genomics: Required.
  • Experience working with key clinical and research accounts and customers in North Carolina: Required.
  • 5+ years of proven life science capital sales experience: Required.
  • Success working effectively within a highly collaborative, team setting: Required.
  • Success with independent lead generation, prospecting and business development: Required.
  • Experience in consultative and strategic selling situations: Required.
  • Success driving complex sales within multi-layered environments: Required.
  • Experience winning/growing business and establishing long-term customer relationships: Required.

Responsibilities

  • Development of territory and account-specific sales plan: Create and maintain a plan to achieve sales targets.
  • Implementation/execution of sales plan to meet assigned sales quotas: Carry out the sales plan to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Adjustment to sales plan in accordance with changing company and customer needs: Adapt the sales plan as necessary.
  • Engage in accurate forecasting and sales pipeline management activities: Track and manage sales opportunities.
  • Proactive utilization and maintenance of CRM database: Keep the CRM system up-to-date.
  • Deliver technical/scientific seminars and presentations on Illumina products/solutions and their capabilities to customers: Educate customers on Illumina’s offerings.
  • Demonstrate role and relevance of Illumina’s product portfolio and provide consultation to customers on same: Advise customers on how Illumina products can benefit them.
  • Demonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in collaborative and consultative sales process: Utilize scientific expertise in sales interactions.
  • Proactive engagement with customers and prospects to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
