The Senior Quality Control Engineer will ensure that products are designed, built, and produced in accordance with customer specifications and quality requirements. This position reports to the QA Lead and is well-suited for individuals who enjoy problem-solving and collaborative work.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Certifications: Professional certification, such as ISTQB-CTFL or ISTQB-CTAL (preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Problem-solving skills: Strong problem-solving skills to test software, identify bugs, and solve errors.
    • Automation experience: Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium Web Driver.
    • Manual Testing experience: Knowledge of manual testing techniques.
    • Familiarity with testing: Knowledge of testing phases and approaches (functional, regression, integration, end-to-end).

Responsibilities

  • Perform Tests: Conduct a variety of tests, including:
    • Smoke testing
    • Regression testing
    • Integration testing
    • Performance testing
    • Cross-browser testing
    • Cross-platform testing
    • Responsive testing (PC, mobile, tablet)
    • API testing
    • Ad-hoc testing as needed.
  • Report Bugs: Report clear bugs and track them using tools like DevOps.
  • Perform Automation: Generate automation scripts and research/use tools to increase automation.
  • Work with Team Members: Collaborate with QC, development, and business groups to complete testing.
  • Design Test Cases: Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases, and review test cases written by junior team members.
  • Send Test Results: Send test results reports, after confirming them with the QA Lead.
  • Documentation: Build project documentation, including user manuals.
  • Participate in Full Lifecycle Development: Contribute to the full software development lifecycle.
  • Perform Business Requirements Review: Review and verify business requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of quality problems and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Conduct UAT: Perform User Acceptance Testing.
  • Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing.
  • Mentor and Train: Mentor and train junior quality control engineers on policies and procedures, and assign tasks.
  • Architecting Test Strategies: Architect new automated test strategies and frameworks.
  • Develop Test Automation: Create, implement, and automate testing in support of software test requirements.
  • Execute and Report: Execute and report on planned tests, report and manage defects, and regress software fixes.
  • Assist Development: Assist development with replicating and debugging problems and developing new test automation solutions.
  • Innovation and Leadership: Demonstrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills.
  • Performance Evaluations: Assist with performance evaluations.
  • Static Testing: Conduct static testing.
