This Senior Project Manager, Clinical Projects, will support multiple Clinical/Ancillary projects. The Sr. IT Project Manager plans, directs, controls, and implements highly complex, large-scale, strategic IT projects enabling technology solutions and systems to meet department and enterprise-wide business and clinical needs, using IT PMO project management methodologies. They are a member of the IT Program Management Office (PMO) and perform additional PMO related activities such as: Assisting in the establishment and on-going management of PMO governance to guarantee program and project approval, implementation and validation according to established criteria, and ensure projects are managed on time and within budget, and meet quality and success requirements; Continuously improve all components of the PMO, including a training course, processes, procedures and tools to ensure the successful management and reporting of all IT programs and projects; Mentor and perform PMO education.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IT PMO methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Vendor management skills
  • Experience with project database tools (e.g., adding templates, users)
  • Ability to guide project stakeholders and team members through the project lifecycle
  • Ability to analyze and select IT solutions meeting information security and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Project Management:
    • Manage clinical projects, integrating Clinical Operations and IT support departments.
    • Develop and manage project schedules, WBS, budgets, and contracts.
    • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation.
    • Manage scope and change management.
    • Handle issue management and provide status reports.
    • Manage project resources and training plans.
    • Plan and manage go-live and transition to IT production support.
    • Conduct value realization and lessons learned reviews.
  • Project Management Approach:
    • Guide project stakeholders and team members through the project life cycle.
    • Ensure effective utilization of resources.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage vendor relationships, including contract reconciliation, maintenance agreements, and issue escalation.
  • General Leadership and Direction:
    • Review project performance relative to commitments.
    • Work with IT resource managers to resolve barriers and conflicts.
  • PMO Support:
    • Assist in PMO governance and management.
    • Continuously improve PMO processes and tools.
    • Mentor and perform PMO education.
    • Oversee project database to ensure standards and methodology are being followed.
