Requirements

  • Strong understanding of banking policies, procedures, and Northern Trust/Wealth Management Risk Management and Compliance guidelines
  • Expertise in setting up all types of client accounts and services, including reviewing documentation for completeness
  • Strong knowledge of various business applications critical to client and account servicing, including online tools and Northern Trust partner/client technology/systems
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision
  • Full understanding and adherence to Wealth Management Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional client service experience while servicing clients with a full range of banking products and services in person, via telephone, and email
  • Execute and/or submit administrative and operational activities, including opening/maintaining/closing client accounts, money movement (e.g., wires, fund transfers), preparing client materials/reports, resolving inquiries, and maintaining accurate recordkeeping
  • Provide maintenance and holistic advice on assigned relationships by identifying client needs and understanding the business model to engage appropriate subject matter experts for opportunities
  • Proactively communicate with relationship management and other service teams to obtain necessary information for executing activities
  • Handle paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing
  • Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes where available
  • Maintain strong understanding of policies/procedures, adhere to guidelines, and escalate issues/concerns promptly
  • Keep informed of new products/services to respond to client questions and assist in selling services to expand relationships
  • Monitor banking reports and assist with banking audits as directed
  • Share expertise in deposit banking area and train others as designated
