Requirements

  • Provides direct leadership for Columbia IS operations in Asia
  • Ensures efficient coordination of technology support, issue resolution, operational monitoring, and engineering functions
  • Partners closely with senior business leaders in the region and the Global Operations Center to craft effective IS strategy consistent with global standards
  • Manages all IS functions for the sourcing organization (Asia Liaison Offices)
  • Provides guidance and assistance for China Direct, Columbia Sportswear Japan, and Columbia Sportswear Korea
  • Thorough understanding of technical aspects of applications and systems
  • Operates under minimal supervision with independent thinking and judgment for problem resolution
  • Handles high degree of complexity, including development of new procedures

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall deployment, monitoring, technical support, and IT maintenance processes throughout the Asia Liaison Office network
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance for CDT activities for China Direct, Japan, and Korea
  • Act as primary contact point between Headquarters teams and IT projects/support in Asia; serve as primary communication point for HQ-based staff
  • Proactively partner with technology leaders globally and the Global Operations Center; establish culture of continuous process improvement using engineering practices and cross-functional partnering
  • Lead employee development through processes for performance management, coaching, development, and training
  • Work through subordinate managers/leads to ensure appropriate service levels for Columbia’s Asia IT business partners
  • Build relationships with Asia business partners to ensure IT services and goals are understood and supported
  • Coordinate and lead tactical and strategic planning for Asia-based Liaison offices; provide guidance to China/Japan/Korea Regional Offices
  • Partner closely with Global Operations Center to transition incidents and resolution information systematically
  • Jointly establish meaningful key performance indicators with Global Operations Center to drive measurable improvement
  • Participate in IT budgeting processes and cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Maintain positive communication with Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and departments
  • Evaluate software used by teams and participate in reviews of systems/software impacting Asia Operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
