Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Extensive experience of typically 10+ years in mechanical design within the power distribution, construction, and/or MEP industries is required. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred, ideally in MD or VA, and candidates must be able to obtain a DoD US Govt. Secret Security Clearance. Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks is essential, along with a strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead and manage the mechanical design process for various projects in the power distribution, construction, and MEP sectors. They will develop innovative mechanical solutions, ensure compliance with industry standards, and provide technical expertise in project execution. Maintaining strong relationships with clients, presenting technical information and project updates, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner are key responsibilities.
