Responsibilities

  • Observe and understand operational challenges in retail operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Identify data and process interdependencies across the organization, particularly within retail operations
  • Articulate operational needs and turn them into clear business requirements
  • Work with IT to define technical requirements necessary to address business needs
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure clear visibility into core IT projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within retail operations and build/maintain strong relationships with SME leaders
  • Conduct detailed requirements gathering sessions with SMEs, document process needs, and translate them into clear business requirements
  • Develop a deep understanding of SMEs' business processes, challenges, and goals
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between retail operations leadership, SMEs, and IT
  • Act as a gatekeeper for the intake process, validating, prioritizing, and defining requests with SMEs and leadership before escalation
  • Gather feedback from SMEs on system performance and process effectiveness and relay to appropriate teams
  • Work with product leaders in IT to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Collaborate with product owners to ensure system designs meet SME requirements
  • Assist in coordinating system development and implementation projects, tracking progress, managing timelines, and communicating plans, goals, and timelines to stakeholders
  • Support testing and quality assurance efforts to ensure systems meet business requirements
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to address challenges from upstream and downstream processes, coordinating with Cultivation, Manufacturing Operations, Brand Operations, Financial Systems, Cost Accounting, Procurement, Merchandising, Compliance, and Quality Assurance
  • Establish and maintain clear rules of engagement with auxiliary systems and core business processes, including Cultivation and Manufacturing, and Brand
