Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or with an emphasis in accounting)
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing people
  • 15+ years of accounting experience and 5+ years of experience managing people (preferred)
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant or similar qualification (preferred)
  • Public accounting, software and/or SaaS industry experience (preferred)
  • Experience managing fixed assets accounting operations in a global company
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles (specifically, US GAAP)
  • Experience using large ERP systems with an understanding of end-to-end system and process flows
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed
  • High attention (to detail, implied)

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review global month-end close activities, including journal entries, expense accruals, fixed asset management, account reconciliations, and optimizing close processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure close processes are on track and communicate ad-hoc items with supporting commentary
  • Prepare monthly fluctuation analyses and financial statements analytics, providing explanations for fluctuations to Management
  • Deliver successful performance of key SOX controls and business processes
  • Provide assistance in drafting accounting policies and memos
  • Support external audits and reviews by ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules to auditors
  • Identify and streamline workflows to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation, and regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters
  • Develop and mentor accounting staff (4-6 direct reports) to build their professional careers and maximize potential
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects from management
