Requirements

8+ years of experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web-app
Prior experience building a learning or assessments product (using Generative AI / LLMs) a plus
Experience building user interfaces with accessibility in mind a plus
Strong technical project management skills
Experience building and maintaining complex software
Clean, maintainable software that solves hard problems
Testable, quality code
Strong communication, thoughtfulness, and desire to give and receive regular feedback

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable backend services for Khan Academy's assessments experience
Develop and maintain complex software for Khan Academy's assessments product
Build and integrate state-of-the-art learning science into Khan Academy's product
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI tools and technologies into Khan Academy's assessments product
Work on projects such as integrating state of the art learning science into Khan Academy's product to enable learners and teachers to quickly identify and address learning gaps on the fly
Develop tools for teachers to use Khan Academy as a strategic supplement in their classrooms
Participate in product development and testing to ensure high-quality and user-friendly product
Collaborate with designers to create user interfaces that are accessible and inclusive
Work with the engineering team to implement new technologies and tools that leverage AI
Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is maintainable, testable, and of high quality
Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and provide regular feedback to the team
Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field of AI and machine learning
