Front-End Engineer - UI Framework Engineering

Position Overview

CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, is seeking a talented Front-End Engineer to join the UI Framework Engineering team. You will be instrumental in building CrowdStrike's next-generation Data Filtering experience, creating engaging UI experiences that help users find threats and patterns faster within their environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a complex, multi-faceted data layer, streamlining and unifying it to empower customers to build custom views. Your contributions will directly impact one of the most utilized features of our flagship product.

Responsibilities

  • Build the filters component used by product teams to help users find the data they want.
  • Leverage technical expertise to make sound decisions around engineering, product direction, and design.
  • Write automated tests for your code.
  • Collaborate with fellow Front End Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Product Designers, Producers, Technical Writers, QA Analysts, Product Managers, and others.
  • Continually learn about the ever-evolving challenges and complexities of the cybersecurity industry.
  • Have fun solving hard problems.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and explaining the risks and tradeoffs of different solutions to a larger audience.
  • Work with a friendly and conscientious team that understands work-life balance.
  • Take initiative and build tools that improve your team's development experience.

Requirements

  • Experience in building user-centric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems.
  • Experience or interest in online code editors (e.g., Monaco, Codemirror).
  • Experience or interest in abstract syntax trees and parsers.
  • Experience or interest in SQL.
  • Expert knowledge of the latest web standards and front-end engineering tools, including:
    • HTML, CSS, Javascript
    • Web Components
    • REST API, GraphQL
    • Typescript
    • Node/NPM
    • Responsive UI
    • Vite
    • Playwright
  • A good understanding of Cloud Technologies and the end-to-end delivery of data-intensive SaaS products.
  • A good understanding of tests (unit, integration, e2e) and their respective tradeoffs.
  • Experience working with dates and timezones.
  • Experience with Accessibility (a11y) best practices, tools, and techniques, including compatibility with keyboard navigation, screen readers, and WCAG AA guidelines.
  • Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n).
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as React/Next.js, Vue, Ember, Lit (a huge plus).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Comfortable providing presentations and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
  • Be an advocate for UX consistency, accessibility, and empathy for the end user.

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge and experience of using micro front-ends and web components to architect framework-agnostic application shells for multi-framework support.
