We are looking for Staff Frontend Engineers to join our growing team!

Responsibilities

  • Own large components of the Assured frontend.
  • Design new user interface elements and workflows, iterating on concepts and bringing them from early drafts all the way to pixel-perfect production code.
  • Write lots of code: Conceptualize, build, test, and ship new products and features for our customers.
  • Maintain a high bar for the quality of frontend experience across the Assured platform, and set the standard for design and interaction polish.
  • Take new features from idea to mockup to fully fledged product.
  • Understand customer feedback and advocate for product direction.
  • Lead, mentor, and learn from other engineers on our growing team.

Requirements

  • Experience in modern frontend technologies and shipping product fast.
  • Experience building complex modern web applications.
  • An eye for thoughtful design–you recognize and care about end-user experience.
  • Not required: Specific technology or programming language background. We are relatively technology-background agnostic. We believe great engineers are great engineers, and that the technologies we use will continue to evolve with the team and challenges we face. In Assured’s frontend codebase today, you’ll find: React (Typescript), Node, Vercel, Postgres, Docker, AWS.

First Month Activities

  • Design and implement a new interface for collecting a guided series of images of damage to a user’s vehicle: work with stakeholders to understand image requirements, conceptualize a novel UI (e.g. guides, auto-detection of vehicle alignment, etc), and finally implement it using modern web technologies.
  • Lead a migration to new best-practice techniques for WebGL rendering to enhance interactive experiences.
  • Improve performance by identifying and optimizing web vitals like Time to First Byte and First Input Delay.
