Requirements

  • 9+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a production role
  • Expertise with virtualization administration, preferably OpenStack, VMWare, FreeBSD, Storage Area Networks in a clustered environment
  • Expertise with OpenStack Nova, Juju, Charms, etc
  • Expertise with Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines
  • Experience leading projects and delivering solutions through completion
  • Demonstrated leadership ability of technical employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment

Responsibilities

  • Support large-scale production deployments for on-prem virtualization infrastructure
  • Lead support of complex technical systems architecture and make recommendations for improvement
  • Represent the team as a technical leader and provide direction and insight for projects, discovery, and problem management
  • Coordinate virtualization technical resources for the purpose of driving both internal and external team projects to completion
  • Analyze requirements and develop solutions of technical problems based on complex business needs
  • Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive milestones
  • Report regularly to leadership on the status of critical projects
  • Ability to write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms (example: PowerShell, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
