Requirements
- 9+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a production role
- Expertise with virtualization administration, preferably OpenStack, VMWare, FreeBSD, Storage Area Networks in a clustered environment
- Expertise with OpenStack Nova, Juju, Charms, etc
- Expertise with Linux engineering and administration for thousands of bare metal and virtual machines
- Experience leading projects and delivering solutions through completion
- Demonstrated leadership ability of technical employees
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
- Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
- Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
Responsibilities
- Support large-scale production deployments for on-prem virtualization infrastructure
- Lead support of complex technical systems architecture and make recommendations for improvement
- Represent the team as a technical leader and provide direction and insight for projects, discovery, and problem management
- Coordinate virtualization technical resources for the purpose of driving both internal and external team projects to completion
- Analyze requirements and develop solutions of technical problems based on complex business needs
- Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive milestones
- Report regularly to leadership on the status of critical projects
- Ability to write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms (example: PowerShell, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
