Join our Commercial team with an unmatched depth of capabilities and help our customers solve some of the world’s toughest challenges. The Sr. BioProduction Account Manager - Emerging Biotech role involves providing biotechnology solutions to customers. This role is remotely based in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage daily activities in alignment with the sales activity plan.
  • Engage technical sales specialists from supporting product-focused teams and receive mentorship from product management in special sales situations.
  • Actively identify and develop new business opportunities with small to midsize biotech companies, building a strong pipeline of projects to drive future growth.
  • Coordinate custom projects by managing internal processes across various BPD functional groups to ensure divisional alignment, project accuracy, and execution.
  • Meet sales quotas and expense targets for the assigned territory.
  • Apply effective sales strategies and negotiation techniques to proactively seek out and secure new business opportunities, responding to the needs of emerging biotech customers with innovative solutions.
  • Drive growth using effective territory and account planning skills, with a focus on new and emerging biotech companies.
  • Hold weekly discussions with the sales manager regarding territory activity and resolve outstanding sales situations.
  • You will be in charge of selling Thermo Fisher Scientific’s complete Bioproduction product lineup to new and upcoming biotech customers. This involves Single-Use Technologies Hardware and Consumables, Cell Culture, Purification, Pharma Analytics, and Production Chemicals within the designated territory, with the assistance of our technical sales specialist teams. The successful candidate will apply sales skills, product and territory knowledge and operate independently in most scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferably in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or equivalent (Advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus).
  • 7+ years of selling into the BioProduction market or industry-related experience is preferred.
  • Requires advanced selling skills and a consultative approach.
  • Established sales history and relationships with upstream and downstream process development & manufacturing teams within key biopharmaceutical accounts in the designated territory are highly desirable.
  • Discuss and support product and application requirements throughout the bioprocessing workflow, involving technical specialists frequently to showcase Thermo Fisher's capabilities for customers.
  • Must demonstrate a positive approach to collaboration and problem-solving, both internally and in customer engagements.
  • Ability to build and sustain ground-breaking relationships with accounts within the territory, with a focus on small to midsize innovative biotech companies.
  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze territory sales data and technical information.
  • Ability to perform independently and as part of a matrixed team.
  • Experience working with SFDC CRM and PowerBI is a plus.
