Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry or public accounting, and preferred experience in Statutory or US GAAP accounting within a life insurance company. Strong analytical skills are required, demonstrating the ability to draw conclusions from research and report findings, alongside demonstrated communication and collaboration skills.
The Senior Analyst, Statutory Accounting and Reporting will prepare and analyze statutory financial statements, management reports, and related disclosures, learning about statutory reporting, reinsurance transactions, accounting for investments, capital requirements, and regulatory filing processes. They will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, complete balance sheet reconciliations, prepare quarterly and annual schedules for life and health insurance companies, assist with external audits, research and compile information for ad-hoc requests, collaborate with team members and other departments to solve problems, and identify changes to improve schedules.
