Requirements
The Senior AIX Systems Administrator requires 7+ years of hands-on experience in Unix/AIX Systems Administration, prior experience in federal government contracting, exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and expertise in documentation and organizational standards. US Citizenship and a DHS Secret Clearance are required, with no dual citizenship allowed. The role requires onsite work 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
This role involves administering and maintaining AIX-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management; monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies; troubleshooting complex system issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams; performing routine backups, restores, system upgrades, and AIX performance tuning; leading and managing project teams with expertise in IBM AIX environments; administering user accounts, permissions, and access controls; and ensuring adherence to security policies.
