Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or applied science or equivalent experience (Bachelor's degree in emergency management preferred)
  • Three (3) or more years of related experience (experience in emergency management activities and/or distribution operations required; experience with project planning and/or support preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices and procedures and safety requirements
  • Working knowledge of information technology
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required
  • No requirement for immigration sponsorship (applicants needing sponsorship should not apply)
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required and travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Must pass pre-assignment and random drug testing (safety-sensitive position)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness and restoration plans, ensuring full integration with affected departments, groups, procedures, and processes
  • Monitor weather conditions and predictions, and in conjunction with Operations, select appropriate preparedness strategies
  • Support development of After-Action Reviews and periodic drills; serve as company representative in external drill planning
  • Handle and facilitate emergency plan development and preparedness with Eversource’s Emergency Preparedness Group
  • File plans and reports with state regulators as required
  • Conduct proactive preparedness planning, including monitoring weather forecasts and advising leadership on plan requirements and protocols during emergency events
  • Perform After-Action Reviews to assess operational events per emergency preparedness and restoration policies
  • Work with Operations to recommend improvements to restoration strategies, planning, and budgets
  • Work with Engineering to identify system hardening opportunities
  • Work with System Operations to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and critical infrastructure standards
  • Coordinate and provide training and “table top exercises” for individuals with emergency assignments
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and timely in writing and verbally under routine and emergency conditions with all involved in restoration efforts
