Requirements

  • Knowledge of product-specific construction standards, materials, and manufacturing processes/techniques

  • 3 years’ experience in Global Sourcing and/or Merchandising (desired)

  • Product-specific technical degree and/or manufacturing experience (desired plus)
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Ability to communicate in other languages (desired plus)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sourcing Manager in managing Hardline merchandise categories for Disney Theme Park Merchandise
  • Monitor sample development submissions, order/production follow-up
  • Initiate vendor set-up, ISU, PLM form completion, and data entry upon order award
  • Proactively assist the Sourcing Manager to meet measurable efficiencies of team communications, tasks, and overall workflow to support continuous improvement
  • Learn and assist the Sourcing Manager to follow up on action plans to improve the supply base and mitigate risk with measurable accountability
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products placed with managed suppliers meet Disney quality standards
  • Manage production tracking reports, driving communication and troubleshooting exceptions and delays proactively
  • Identify opportunities to leverage tools, information, processes, and resources to optimize operational efficiency
  • Assist the Sourcing Manager to initiate vendor set-up process in the system
  • Work with suppliers to ensure cost updates are timely in PLM, enabling the Sourcing Manager to manage the order award process
  • Support the Sourcing Manager to consolidate discussions with factories and Product Design to seek new ideas, art techniques, applications, and materials to drive product innovation
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supply base to elevate supplier performance with measurable results
  • Proactively address issues or delivery delays to the Sourcing Manager timely
