Requirements

The Software Engineer II (Scala) requires 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, experience developing in Scala, with experience in PHP, Javascript, and/or gRPC as a bonus, and experience with evolving/scaling high throughput applications. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is also required, along with fluency in English.

Responsibilities

This role involves maintaining and improving services that power the BigCommerce’s Storefront Environment, supporting bug fixes and implementing enhancements to applications in Production, producing technical documentation of workflows, and collaborating with a distributed team between US and EU timezones. The Software Engineer will also be comfortable exploring unfamiliar languages, tools, and technologies and working as a contributor and mentor on an Agile team.
