Requirements

5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience building scalable systems handling millions of users
Experience with large distributed systems handling substantial traffic
Previous experience at a hyper-growth startup; self-starter who can hit the ground running with little direction
Self-driven with result-oriented mindset
Excellent communication and writing skills
Exceptional coding skills and ability to ship new products quickly (primarily Python, Elixir, JavaScript; prior knowledge not required)
Knowledge in cryptography, networking, authentication, and authorization
Experience implementing security measures such as encryption, access controls, data minimization, and regular audits to safeguard PII
Within commuting distance of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or New York hubs
Nice to have: Prior experience in public cloud (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Terraform

Responsibilities

Work in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to shape security and integrity of user account systems
Minimize risk and potential abuse by ensuring robust authentication, authorization, and access controls across the environment
Empower other teams to move fast without compromising user trust by delivering secure-by-default infrastructure, scalable permissioning systems, and reliable storage for sensitive user data
Design, code, and contribute ideas to solve complex technical challenges and define future engineering initiatives
Sample projects: Authentication, Authorization, Permissions, Access control systems, Building secure storage for PII user data
