Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience
Typically 2-4 years of professional experience, and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job
Exposure to data services in a cloud computing platform
Experience coding in one of the following languages (Python, Scala, SQL, PowerShell)
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software development tools
Ability to participate and contribute in a team environment, and to work with users of all levels to identify requirements and deliver timely results
Ability to grasp new technologies rapidly, break down data issues and resolve them
Solid technical, communication and interpersonal skills
Sound judgment and decision-making, and the appropriate sense of urgency
Coding proficiency in a modern programming or scripting language, strongly preferred
Azure experience preferred (Logic and Function apps)
Knowledge of database systems (SQL)
Strong project and time management skills
Ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Exposure to wholesale and/or retail solutions preferred
Experience with Data Catalogs, business glossaries, data governance, and metadata management preferred

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, monitor, and support a platform or application
Maintain thoughtful application design
Build subject matter expertise in the business area
Contribute to and help refine the team’s backlog
Partner with teammates and the Product Owner to break down work into reasonable sizes that can be accomplished in a single iteration
Ensure stories have clearly understood value and defined acceptance criteria
Help inform delivery estimates (story points)
Seek to understand prioritization and sequencing decisions
Seek to understand key dependencies
Help inform prioritization, identify dependencies, and influence the product roadmap
Participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-up, backlog refinement, planning, review/demo, and retrospectives
Help drive collaboration within the team through participation in practices such as pair programming
Seek to understand application architecture for the squad’s limited area of responsibility
Participate in peer mentoring
Follow quality standards
Leverage automation where possible
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale
Participate in peer code reviews
Troubleshoot and fix bugs, security risks, and bottlenecks
Improve software development lifecycle
Leverage and maintain support playbooks
Employ DevOps practices to advance the technical foundation of solutions
Start exploring new technologies and ways of software delivery
Assist with the implementation of proof-of-concepts to experiment with new ideas
Perform other duties as assigned
