Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in software engineering and application support (key advantage)
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge and experience of the Windows server/UNIX platforms
  • Sound network troubleshooting knowledge including LAN/WAN, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, and Routing
  • Hands-on experience in SQL; the ability to write and execute queries and understand databases
  • Knowledge and experience in Shell or Python scripting (advantage)
  • Oracle DBMS and PL SQL knowledge (added advantage)
  • Must be a dynamic personality with a good balance of technical abilities and communication skills who can handle pressure situations

Responsibilities

  • Providing reactive support through troubleshooting technical issues, unblocking users and detecting root cause(s) based on SLAs
  • Participating in ongoing project work and taking part in design, build, and support testing of Varicent Incentive Based Pay applications - providing recommendations for the project as needed
  • Identifying and resolving complex applications, network, platform and cloud-based connectivity issues
  • Ensuring that systems are fully operational, and any loss of service is restored within SLAs
  • Engaging and coordinating with end-users, other stakeholders such as engineering and third parties during the issue resolution process
  • Supporting upgrades and new deployments of the applications
  • Monitoring and proactively managing application issues
