Position Overview

Cars Commerce is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance existing services, troubleshoot and optimize current systems, and build scalable, secure, and reliable services that power our platform.

Our platform equips dealerships and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with cutting-edge technical solutions and data-driven intelligence to effectively reach and influence potential buyers, increase inventory turnover, and grow market share.

About You

You are an experienced, results-driven software engineer with a passion for building scalable and reliable systems. You possess a strong foundation in designing and developing services capable of handling high traffic volumes while ensuring performance, security, and maintainability. You have a solid understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices, and you are comfortable contributing to and recommending technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term stability.

You recognize the importance of testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines in delivering robust systems. You have practical experience with Kubernetes and containerized services, utilizing orchestration and automation to optimize deployment, scalability, and resilience.

Above all, you are enthusiastic about creating core capabilities and services that empower product teams to innovate rapidly and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Develop Scalable and Observable Systems: Collaborate with fellow engineers to develop high-performance services that meet defined service level objectives (SLOs) and scale to accommodate growing business needs.
• Own Production Systems: Take ownership of the quality and maintenance of business-critical systems developed by you and your team. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure prompt resolution of incidents and contribute to postmortems to drive continuous improvement in system reliability.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with other teams to achieve shared goals.
