Candidates should have 2+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Python or Go programming, expertise working with Kubernetes and containerization, and experience working with Kubernetes orchestration on hosted cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and understanding of the common WordPress technology stack (Linux, Varnish, Apache/Nginx, MySQL, and PHP) are desirable, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
The Software Engineer will build automated, scalable services and systems to power the company’s growing infrastructure, collaborating with an agile team to deliver high-quality and timely code. They will work with monitoring and alerting systems to aid engineering and support efforts, constantly look for opportunities to automate and optimize, and work with Kubernetes solutions across various cloud providers. The role also involves producing quality, testable, and maintainable systems with fast feedback loops, building and enhancing infrastructure for serving WordPress on thousands of servers, developing CI/CD pipelines, and working closely with business partners to incrementally deliver positive outcomes through technology.
