Requirements

  • BS / MS degree in computer science, engineering, chemistry, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in multidisciplinary product and/or software development environment, with 3+ years in a managerial/leadership role
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Facilitative leader who can grow and empower team members and Agile teams
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization to achieve goals and gain alignment from key partners
  • Ability to use data and metrics to identify and solve problems and drive continuous improvement
  • Track record of successfully leading and delivering sophisticated development and engineering projects
  • Strong software development skills with a focus on scientific instrumentation, knowledge of spectroscopy techniques desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft development environments including C# and the .NET Framework; experience with multi-threaded development is desirable
  • Passionate contributor committed to exceeding customer requirements and growing their own knowledge base

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and guide a software development team that focuses on building and implementing software for spectroscopy products
  • Develop software solutions for instrument integration and multi-dimensional chemical analysis techniques
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, involving hardware engineers, scientists, and product managers, to define software requirements and specifications
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in spectroscopy and software development technologies and integrate them into products
  • Ensure that software solutions are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of customers and collaborators
