Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and a minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on development experience with Object-Oriented Programming, preferably in Java, on a large-scale system. They should have a good understanding of databases and networking concepts, including HTTP, and a solid grasp of operating system fundamentals.
The Software Development Engineer II - Backend will primarily focus on building highly-scalable and secure payments platform components, driving innovation within their assigned area, and collaborating with various product teams to gather requirements and implement new capabilities. They will work with cutting-edge cryptography to secure payments, derive actionable insights from large datasets, build low-level infrastructure to enhance network performance, and participate in recruitment and engineering nurturing activities. Furthermore, they will review and influence evolving design standards, identify patterns and provide solutions to complex problems, and research and socialize new tools and techniques.
