Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electromechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience
  • Proven experience in SMT processes (printer, pick & place, reflow, AOI, SPI)
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects, cost reduction initiatives, and new product launches (NPI)
  • Knowledge of line balancing, time and motion studies, ergonomics, and process documentation
  • Experience in equipment validation, process development, and supporting quality audits (internal or customer)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes through time and motion studies, line balancing, and method optimization
  • Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Design, modify, and optimize tools, fixtures, and assembly devices to enhance ergonomics, safety, and productivity
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to production
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical standards
  • Monitor and analyze SMT line performance (FPY, scrap, downtime) and lead corrective/preventive actions
  • Validate and optimize process parameters and reflow thermal profiles according to IPC standards
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure process stability and compliance
  • Participate in audits, equipment validations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train operational personnel on process best practices and new engineering implementations
