Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, system administration, or a similar role is required. Strong technical skills include a good understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Ruby is also necessary.
The Site Reliability Engineer will provide on-call production support, work on customer and internal engineering tickets, and address SRE backlog items. Responsibilities include continuously monitoring the health and performance of services, systems, and infrastructure, responding promptly to alerts and incidents to ensure high availability, and developing automation scripts to streamline operations. The role involves assisting in troubleshooting and resolving incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes. Additionally, the engineer will participate in designing and implementing system improvements, collaborate with software engineers on application requirements and deployment processes, create and maintain documentation, assist with capacity planning, and implement security best practices.
