Requirements

  • 5–8 years shipping supervisory or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, supervisors, and managers using both verbal and written communication
  • In good standing (no performance or attendance issues)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, drive, and sit (up to 80% of shift)
  • Ability to see and hear
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend English

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate initial and ongoing training of employees in safety, forklifts, and operational objectives
  • Supervise employees in the shipping department
  • Utilize planning and organizational skills to coordinate the shipping team and maximize their time for shipping and staging outbound shipments
  • Oversee daily activities of the warehouse area, including labor scheduling, supervision, proper utilization of space and equipment, and maintaining an organized, clean building appearance
  • Plan distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling, maintenance, and administrative activities to meet customer requirements
  • Interact with administrative and management staff to facilitate inventory control, shipping, and receiving process changes and improvements
  • Ensure documentation for all shipments is completed accurately and timely according to government regulations, company policy, and customer specifications
  • Lead and participate in the quarterly inventory process
  • Order granules, wrappers, and fiberglass in support of production
