Requirements

  • Successful completion of annual welding re-certification
  • Must pass preemployment welding test
  • Overtime – available for overtime assignments
  • Ability to work from heights as required (ladder, scaffolding, skyclimber, etc.)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces as required
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift minimum of 50 pounds
  • Walking, standing, bending, and climbing as required
  • Ability to work in various environments (hot, cold, dusty, noisy, inside building, and outdoor)
  • Must be medically qualified to use a respirator at all times (clean shaven)
  • Must be clean shaven at all times while on site
  • Must be a member of the plant's CSR team
  • Desired: Industrial Trade School Certificate in welding or graduate of Military Training School (Form DD-214 required), or associate in applied science - Welding, with course of study including: Welding symbols & drawings, Metallurgy, Heliarc welding, Shielded Metal Arc welding, Mig welding, Dissimilar metals welding, Arc gouging, Oxygen/acetylene torch, Plasma torch, Metal fabrication & lay-out, Hand & Power tools, Rigging, Preheat & Post Heat principles

Responsibilities

  • Assigned primarily to the Base Crew, M-F days, or to operating shifts with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
  • Perform operations duties and maintenance duties including but not limited to electrical, control and instrument, mechanical, welding, and use of machine tools
  • Plan, schedule, and perform all aspects of the job while working independently
